By Air-From San Jose to Drake Bay:

Costa Rica's domestic airlines, Nature Air and Sansa now have
daily flights directly to Drake Bay. This allows you to arrive
early and enjoy a tour or to get a jump on your tanning. This
is by far the quickest and easiest way to get to Drake Bay.

From San Jose to Palmar
|

Two Costa Rican Airlines service the route between San Jose and Palmar Sur:
1. Nature Air-has daily service from San Jose to Palmar Norte. The departure times vary so it is good to make reservations and plans ahead of time.
*Note-baggage is limited to 25lbs per person.

BY LAND (cheaper, incredible scenery, but much more time) |
1.Tracopa Bus -can also be taken to Palmar Norte. The bus station is located in downtown San Jose and can be reached by asking any taxi driver to take you to the "Tracopa". A round trip bus ticket will cost approximately $9us. However, the bus ride takes an average of six hours to reach Palmar Norte. If you have the time, the road winds through the central highlands of Costa Rica and the scenery from the bus window can be an extremely beautiful !!
2.Taxi -A taxi can also be taken. The taxi ride will cost around $250 U.S. one way for up to 4 people and will also take you around 5 1/2 hours.
3.Rental Car -Of course you can take a rental car to all the way to Sierpe, and the convenience of not having to wait for planes or buses is appealing to some. However, you must remember that you can't drive to Drake Bay so the days you spend at the Jinetes de Osa will be money wasted on the rental. |

1.Taxi -are usually available from the airport or from the bus stop in Palmar during anytime for the day.
2.Bus -leaves Palmar 4 times a day. Departure times vary. The trip will cost about $1us one way. |

From Sierpe to Drake Bay and Jinetes de Osa/Costa Rica Adventure Divers |
With prior notice, a boat can be arranged to meet you in Sierpe. If you plan to arrive without reservations please be aware of the following; There is no established boat service from Sierpe to Drake Bay, however boats leave the docks on the Sierpe River several times a day for Drake Bay and will be more than happy to give you a ride for a reasonable fee. |
