Cano Island is Costa Rica's premier snorkeling location. Our snorkeling trip begins after breakfast at the Jinetes de Osa when we board our boat for the 45 minute water crossing to Cano Island. Along the way, it is likely that we will encounter playful spotted, spinner, or bottlenose dolphins swimming along side or in front of the boat.
Upon arrival your guide will lead you to the clear water and the best spots for sighting marine life. The water surrounding the island is teeming with activity as numerous species of fish including the king angel, moorish idol, puffers, surgeonfish, snapper, barracuda,
barberfish, parrotfish, damsels and a variety of eels can be found hiding around the coral lined rock formations. Turtles, rays, and the non aggressive reef shark can also be spotted. After a delicious picnic lunch, you will have the option of returning to the water or going on a hike on the island (At this time hiking on Caño Island is not permitted until further notice).
